“Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, declares the Lord GOD. Repent and turn from all your transgressions, lest iniquity be your ruin.” Ezekiel 18:30

Israel was founded as a nation to live as a theocratic kingdom in an idol worshiping world to declare God’s salvation. As God’s representatives on earth the Mosaic Law was their standard by which to live. Everyone was judged equitably and individually. There was to be repentance (a 180) when God’s law was broken. We in the church age are to keep Christ’s commandments as a new kind of kingdom citizens, anticipating Christ’s coming kingdom on earth. God has given to each of us the responsibility of repentance when we disobey Him. Those who are unsaved are to repent of their unbelief and turn to Christ for the forgiveness of sin. As a Christian we can repent and not despair lest we think a transgression would prevent us from enjoying life. There is hope because of repentance and forgiveness. Don’t try to live without them.
