“By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread, till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return.” Genesis 3:19

Sin did its dirty work. Death descended upon what had been designed for perfection and delight. In a split second, (continued from yesterday) (2) Creation was subjected to futility by God. The privileged planet became marred and distorted by sin. We live in a dying world. As we summarize the Christian worldview regarding the environment, (3) Creation is a witness to the gravity of sin and man’s need of redemption. Whether it’s by dirt upon the coffin or disposal of the body by cremation, death shouts to a spiritually deaf and dumb world that the grim reaper stalks us all. (4) Creation longs for its redemption which will be experienced when Jesus Christ returns. Until then God in His grace makes the residual glory of His creation break through in thousands of ways. Sunflowers swaying in the morning light, the fragrance of orange blossoms, and the soothing sound of a clear mountain stream rolling over the rocks tease us with what might have been.
“I’ve never known the sharp salt kiss of morning pressed on my lips by winds flung from the sea, but I have felt a wild bird’s gentle body rest in my hand awhile and then fly free.” Margaret Clarkson

“Precious Lord, my heart sings with hope as I ponder the promise that “The last enemy to be destroyed is death. For God has put all things in subjection under him.” 1 Cor. 15:26-27
