The Christian life is a call to undeserved suffering. That is the presenting theme of 1 Peter 3 which is a carry over from what Peter has written in the previous chapter. However, this does not mean that the Christian life is to be one of misery and grief. A quote from Psalm 34 is a bright light on the life that is to be a blessing to oneself and others. David’s psalm is a case in point. Do you want to enjoy life then keep your mind clear with God who blesses us because of who and what He is. It’s all grace from beginning to end. Our treatment of others should be like God’s treatment of us, one of forgiveness and kindness. God wants us to enjoy life in time and eternity. Never forget that sin minimizes this possibility. God’s way is the best way as a citizen, a servant of others, being the best wife and husband you can be. Be convinced that the Christian life leads to a better quality and quantity of life. God blesses godly lives. Don’t succumb to Satan’s lie, that we miss good things if we follow God. Don’t admire the life of the unbeliever. Movies can often be harmful propaganda. Set your mind on loving obedience to our Father in heaven.
