“These things you have done, and I have been silent; you thought that I was one like yourself. But now I rebuke you and lay the charge before you. Mark this, then, you who forget God, lest I tear you apart, and there be none to deliver!” Psalm 50:21-22

True worshipers know that God hates a phony front. Thinking God is like myself. This is a poison pill of creating gods that resemble us. Those who think they can worship God and disobey Him at the same time are self-made idolaters. Hypocrisy is the denial by one’s life that one professes with his lips. God’s silence must not be misinterpreted. Don’t confuse God’s patience with His approval. A false concept of God is at the heart of false worship. We don’t rob a convenience store, but are envious of our neighbor’s affluent life style. We don’t shoot someone, but we stab them in the back with an untruth said about them. God’s grace is manifest in His patience (“consider this”). This call is for repentance. God delights in worshipers whose hearts are right toward Him.
