“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword.?” Romans 8:35
April 7, 2025
As a Christian, have you ever doubted Christ’s love for you? Sufferings and hardships can’t cut us off from our Redeemer. Christ’s love for us is the basis of our security. The good news is that we have been declared innocent of all charges against us. How precious is our justification before God in Christ. The love of Christ is not threatened by any of the miseries of this life. The pressures of life that come upon us are not denials of His desire for our good. Abuse as a child, the loss of a job, a severe illness. Have you wrongfully thought, “why, Lord, would you do this to me?” Have you been harmed by others, ostracized by friends or family? Destructive weather patterns, corrupt government officials, fires and floods do not mean the Lord is angry with us. Poverty, break-ins to our home, threatened physical violence are not signs of the Savior’s rejection of us. Never forget that all things work together for our ultimate good in this life. They may be inexplicable at times, but they are not meaningless. Pause and praise God for Christ’s boundless love for His children.

“We are never nearer Christ than when we find ourselves lost in a holy amazement at His unspeakable love.”
John Owens (1616-1683)
