“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:11
December 24, 2025
Who was the Christ-child? He was Israel’s long awaited Messiah, the son of David, the heir to the throne of David. He was the Son of the Most High, God Himself as man, who won the right to rule as the second Adam. He was virgin-born, absolutely unique, sinless, the One who would save His people from their sins. Yes, the Savior was God Himself. God was Israel’s Savior (“Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burden, the God who is our salvation.” Psa. 68:19). Are you praying for the Jews? Satan is seeking to destroy them as a people. Sadly, most of the Jews in our world are blinded to their need for a Savior. He is the only Savior the world has (Jn. 4:42 “…know that this One is indeed the Savior of the world.”). Jesus is the Savior of the Church (Eph. 5:23). Do you know Him as your deliverer and defender? The Savior came to give repentance, forgiveness, and redemption (Acts 5:31). This was the message that the apostles preached and spread abroad. How are we doing in getting this message out? Christmas is much more than a TV commercial, and hardly even that in our securalized society. Soft drinks and alcohol preempt the reality that the Savior is coming again (Phil. 3:20). Are you looking for the Savior who will transform us? He is coming as judge and the one who will set the world right.

Reflection:
Take the time to pray for any of your family members who are living without the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
What are some things I can do in this coming year to be a more effective herald of the good news about Jesus the Savior?
