Who is the most important man in the universe? He is no dictator, president, prime minister, or any human authority or religious leader, past or present. He is the God-Man, the Lord Jesus Christ, the Creator of heaven and earth (Col. 1:15). Have you found your identity and meaning in life in Him? If so, then as Christians we are to be effective light-bearers in this world. Savor the facts: believers have died with Christ, have been raised with Him, and are with Christ in heaven (Col. 3:3). Have you thought of yourself as having been raised with Christ? This resurrection to new life in Christ creates responsibility. Are your desires set on Christ against the pressures of the world’s values, the impulses of sin within, and the devil’s aspirations? Our minds are to be fully engaged with heavenly thoughts which can come only by understanding heavenly realities from Scripture. In other words, we must have our heads screwed on right. Is the new year unfolding in that direction for you?
