Faith Thinking

“The LORD is in his holy temple; the LORD’s throne is in heaven; his eyes see, his eyelids test the children of man.” Psalm 11:4

There will be times in our lives when we are tempted to listen to the wrong advice which may come in a difficult and confusing time for us. This was David’s experience in Psalm 11. We took notice of Psalm 11:3 where David’s support system in Israel was in theological and moral disorder. We face a comparable time in our day. What can we do when the Bible is ridiculed and rejected by many, when Christian schools and organizations are compromising with the culture and undermine the authority of the Scriptures? David, as we should, engaged in serious faith thinking in order to put problems into perspective (Psa. 11:4-7). When we look around and see how bad things are, we have to look up to God. God is in residence in His heavenly temple. He is not in flight. God knows everything. He does not have to depend on Artificial Intelligence to make just judgments. God sees our deeds and pronounces a verdict on them. The way things seem at the moment must not be allowed to eclipse the fact that our wise, loving, and sovereign God is on His throne. Take refuge in Him by keeping your mind clear by means of His counsel as given to us in the Bible.

“Infinitely wise Father, keep me from running away from my problems. I want to face them and think about them with your thoughts. Make me a better faith thinker.”
