No matter what one’s political persuasion, you have to be impressed with the determination, self-discipline, training, and mission-focused pilots of the B-2 bombers. They flew a highly complex mission for 36 hours without sleep to drop 30,000 bombs on nuclear weapon preparation sites. There are biblical qualities of life and mission-focus that are required of believers in Jesus Christ. We have already considered that there are things we are not to forget. But there are those things we are to forget (Look again at Phil. 3:13) as we pursue the goal of meeting Jesus Christ in glory. We are to forget the sins of others against us by forgiving the way that God forgives. The only way to change the past is by forgiveness which is the releasing the one who has sinned against us from relational-debt. I will not seek revenge but give love instead. Such God-like behavior turns the pain of past hurts into the delight of pleasing God. One day Christ’s people will see Him face to face. Are you being prepared?
