“Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.” Colossians 3:2

A good product is the best advertisement. Biblical Christianity must not only be defended – as it is in Colossians chapters 1 & 2 – it must be demonstrated. It takes a mind that is working right to do this. We are not talking about becoming smarter but wiser. Heaven on earth is possible when we have been resurrected. A look back at 3:1, which says “If then you have been raised up with Christ,” tells us that a new reality occurred when we were converted to Jesus Christ. We are “co-resurrected” with Christ which creates a tremendous responsibility. We have to get our thought life set on the things that really matter. This doesn’t happen over night. As new desires and delights begin to flood into our motives and decisions, we will become increasingly oriented toward biblical truth and realities. This, in turn, will fortify us against the world (its values), the flesh (its selfish bent), and the devil (his agenda). As has been previously pointed out, the cultural stream of thought has been poisoned by clever thinkers who tell us that truth is created within us. Have you heard recently that the divine institution of marriage between a man and a woman is outdated and bad for a progressive civilization? Or that the world’s problems can be solved by the kind of freedom that moves us closer to the truth, self-made truth that is. Only Jesus Christ can give us the answer to “Where did we come from?” “Where are we going?” Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness. H
A time to pray: “Our Father who art in heaven, keep my mind concentrating on the eternal realities of heaven.”
