“And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12

Watching salmon swim up stream against the current is in the world of spiritual realties what we Christians are doing when we say that “there is salvation in no one else.” The apostle Peter boldly announced to the religious class and all of Israel that the only hope for the spiritual healing of lost mankind is Jesus Christ. Even before Christ came and died on the cross, every Old Testament believer was saved on credit. Jesus came and paid the debt of sin so that the payment could be made, the only payment God could accept. We hear much talk about inclusion. The truth is that salvation is about exclusion and inclusion. Peter is making it absolutely clear that Jesus of Nazareth was Israel’s Messiah and the only way in which one could approach God and live forever in God’s presence. Dear Christian, don’t be ashamed of this. Humbly submit to God’s only way of salvation.
The exclusionism of Christianity offends the world. Christians will be accused of being intolerant. However, the wonderful truth is, all are included in God’s family who place their trust in Christ for everlasting life.
