“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” Phillipians 4:6

What comes to your mind when you hear the word “prayer?” Talking to God when nothing else works? What I ought to do but don’t pray as I should? Right thinking about prayer begins with right thoughts about God. Prayer is talking to the sovereign God of the universe. “There is no argument or rationale given in Scripture for prayer. Just as the existence of God is assumed, so it is assumed that every child of God will talk to his Father” (Ivan H. French). It is a vital sign of the Christian and ought to be natural to him. Jesus commanded it (Lk. 18:1). Jesus taught it (Lk. 11:1). Jesus practiced it. Paul taught it as a way to meet every problem. Are you comfortable with your current practice of prayer? Do you have needs you talk to God about? Are you persuaded that whatever God sends is for our good?
