Restoration

“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” Psalm 51:10

Storms can do severe damage to a house. Wind and rain conspire to test the best of insurance polices. Likewise, sin and divine discipline can cause bodily pain and suffering, turn the conscience into a brutal foe, and crush relationships. As David discovered, recovery from sin’s damage requires the power of God. When we choose the pleasure of disobedience to God we will need body, mind, soul, and heart restoration. Strength and spiritual stamina is needed to go on, to remain faithful to God, and not lapse again. The Spirit of God, no longer grieved (Eph. 4:30), provides empowerment to renew the heart toward fellowship with God, rebuild the conscience, and bring us to overflowing joy. “Desire is a bad master.” The pleasure of obedience to God is to become the greater pleasure.
If there is sin that needs confession and repentance, don’t hesitate.
