As Christians we must never underestimate the strength of the enemy. Indeed, we were formerly in the dark, morally confused with minds that were devoid of a Christian worldview (Eph. 4:18; 5:8). But now being in Christ we have new natures and a developing new understanding of reality. Demonic powers are organized against us. Each believer has his own struggle to face. We face spiritual forces opposed to God and God’s people. But we are not to fear. Christ has authority over these evil authorities (Eph. 1:21). It is an invisible war and we must not forget that our weapons are supernaturally superior (2 Cor. 10:4): prayer, the Word of God, faith, and the power of the Holy Spirit. We are not to become preoccupied with demons. “Never in Scripture is the believer exhorted to seek out or attack the Devil or his demons. On the contrary, the Devil seeks to attack the believer” (Alex Konya, Demons, A Biblically Based Perspective). As Satan is organized, so must we be seriously engaged with our resources in Christ.
