The Scriptures will be scoffed at by those who march to the drum-beat of unbelief. Scoffers insulted the Savior at His First Coming. Why should we be surprised at the arrogance of those who treat the Second Coming of Christ with contempt? Hostile arguments are abundant: “It hasn’t happened, so it won’t. Jesus won’t come because He hasn’t come, i.e. things life this just don’t happen. “It can’t happen.” They say that we live in a closed system. God can’t intervene. The naturalistic worldview wraps itself in the vanity of the so-called “scientific approach.” It assumes (the principle of uniformity) that the processes that govern nature today have always been the same in the past so that the present is the key to the past. Christian adults, are we preparing our youth to stand strong in the face of scoffers who would discourage and defeat believers in Jesus Christ?
