Words are powerful, especially when they are introduced into a courtroom trial. The mother of three small children was said to have been in a mental state of postpartum psychosis. Though not a medical diagnosis by itself, it was enough to create a mistrial. We are living in a morally decaying society, one that is increasingly detached from spiritual reality. Call it moral insanity. It is the judgment of God for having rebelled against the knowledge of God. Minds can become so depraved that they declare bad as good, and good is actually bad. It started with Adam (Genesis 3) who chose to pursue the enticement of Satan to become like God. Instead, Adam and his descendants became like Satan with minds that are driven by the devil. Society increasingly becomes the suburbs of hell. The outcome of the “approval” of evil leads to the final judgment of hell itself. But there is hope. The book of Romans tells the story. The gospel offers forgiveness through repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 1:16-17).
