“Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name.” Philippians 2:9

The fictional legend of werewolves has been used by Hollywood to scare audiences. The full moon turning a curse-plagued man into a wolf that could only be killed by a silver bullet is just that, fiction. What is gloriously true is that the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead is the solution to the curse of sin and death. Every human being is born under that curse. God’s Servant, Jesus Christ, took upon Himself real human form, but without sin, in order to sacrifice Himself on the cross to pay the ultimate price of sin. It was no simple and seemingly magical solution to a complicated problem. Jesus was proven to be the Son of God by His own resurrection. It was God’s “silver bullet” for the death of death in the death of the Lord Jesus Christ. He was exalted by God the Father to His session in heaven and crowned with the status of Lordship. We are to stand amazed that “the cross was not the end but the entrance into glory,” the glory that He had with His Father in heaven. He was honored with the title of “Lord” being declared to be the Lord because He was the Lord (Rom. 1:3,4). What a wonderful story! The world has its fictions, but this is not one of them. We, sinful human beings, have the only remedy for the curse under which we live, namely, a Savior honored with the highest office in the universe because of His victory over sin and death.
All of us have a rendezvous with Jesus Christ. All will acknowledge Jesus’ Lordship. There are only two ways to do this: the way into Christ’s presence at our death by putting our trust in Him now in this life, or to reject Christ in this life and to have to bow before Him on the day of judgment. Everlasting punishment in hell is an unimaginable curse that never ends.
