Who Was Jesus?

“This was why the Jews were seeking all the more to kill him, because not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.” John 5:18

Driving in a thick fog is dangerous. Losing contact with the reality of where one is a scary experience. We are living in a language fog which can have eternal consequences. Sin and evil have been dismissed and replaced with so-called “mental illness.” Jesus’ true identity is lost in the fog of claims about Him as being “the spirit brother of the devil” and that Christ’s blood was not sufficient to cleanse from sin. A major religious system believes this. Another religious system – also a cult – claims that Christ is unique, but not divine, identified with Michael the Archangel, the first created being. Just because people say they are worshiping Jesus doesn’t mean that they are. The Scriptures are abundantly clear about Jesus’ deity. He is God (Tit. 2:13), the Son of God (Jn. 5:18). He is said to be eternal (Jn. 1:1), everywhere present (Matt. 28:20). He received worship (Acts 10:25-26). Watch out, dear Christian, for those who say they are worshiping Jesus, but who is “another Jesus,” the subject of “another gospel” (Gal. 1:8-9). In the coming judgment Jesus will say, “Depart from Me, I never knew you” (Matt. 7:23). The ultimate horror scene is to be rejected by Christ and having to spend eternity in the agonies of hell.

“My Father in heaven, I believe Jesus claimed to be one with you, possessed divine attributes (Jn. 17:5), possessed divine names (Rev. 22:13), and is the Creator (Jn. 1:3).”
