“I know that after my departure fierce wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock.” Acts 20:29
November 18-19, 2022
Have you seen any “Beware of Wolves” signs lately? Probably not. But the wolves are all about us, theological wolves that is. They are false teachers who snatch up the sheep (Jn. 10:12), draw disciples away from the gospel, and oppose the truth (2 Tim. 3:8). They can be pastors of churches, authors of best selling books, and inhabit the podcast world. They can be religious or nonreligious, but especially dangerous are those in sheep’s clothing (Matt. 7:15). The following are some of the protective measures that can be taken. (1) Stay clear that Jesus is the only way to God. Christianity is exclusive (Jn. 14:6).(2) Don’t be ashamed of the atoning blood and sacrifice of Jesus Christ for our sins (Rom. 3:25). (3) Live under the battle flag of the full authority of Scripture. Don’t rely on your own thoughts, instincts, and feelings for knowing what is truth ((2 Tim. 3:16). (4) Watch out for word thieves. Wolves love to redefine words (such words as “love,” “tolerance.”) (1 Cor. 13:6). (5) Stay loyal to the gospel message. Social justice is not the gospel. Helping outcasts is a good thing, but it won’t get you into heaven (Eph. 2:8,9). Don’t be deceived like little red riding hood and her grandmother were. There are those who pretend to be what they are not. H
