There is a moral virus that threatens to destroy our nation in the name of human good and the promise of societal paradise. This moral and political evil is one of the consequences of abandoning God as our moral compass. It is the resentment of what someone has or who they are. Envy is that beast which desires “equality” of outcomes. It comes disguised as leveling the economic playing field. Million heirs and billion heirs are targeted for their wealth, except of course oneself and those I adore. The location of envy in Romans one is instructive. Depraved minds that worship the creation rather than the Creator are eaten up with envy. The bitter feeling aroused by someone else’s possessions, wanting what one does not have, whether material possessions popularity, or success is another nail in the coffin of the death of a nation. Socialism is seeing a surge of popularity on the political landscape. It is antithetical to the founding principles of America. Stand guard against the subtleties of the pursuit of someone else’s stuff in the name of creating equality.
