Power, power, power. Political power, if we could just have enough of it, government could solve our problems. Don’t believe it. If we could have enough time and chance that would be all the power needed for evolution of the human species. Don’t believe it. God declares by the psalmist our confidence for the future cannot be grounded in wealth and human power. God by His power raises up and brings down human governments. By His power God spoke the universe into existence. By God’s power the weather accomplishes God’s will. By God’s power rebellious, sin-hardened hearts can be transformed into God-loving, Christ-serving, sin-overcoming, God-worshiping people. Do you believe this? Then flee to the all-powerful God who calls us to repent and believe in Christ alone.
