“Likewise, urge the younger men to be self-controlled. Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works…” Titus 2:6-7

A healthy church is made up of young men who bravely carry the flag of truth for the glory of God. The need of the hour and at any time is for gospel truth to be wrapped in relationships. Young men are to know where they are on the battlefield of life. This calls for self-command of mind as well as of body. There are hazards for energized, physically vigorous younger men. Sexual passions, sports, video games can take over one’s life. The rigorous pursuit of God will show itself in self-discipline. Young men need heroes to inspire them to take the high road of living for the glory of God. Heroes of the faith are what is needed, young men who are not afraid to stand alone for Christ, who have undaunted courage in the war against sin. Jesus said, “follow me.” Young men, are you looking to Jesus Christ as your model for exemplary living. Think often about Him. Know Him. Love Him. Trust Him. Worship Him. Don’t let anything in this world come between you and the greatest man who ever lived. He is more than that. He is our Savior.

Pray for the young men you know, that their teen years will be a time of awakening to Christ and mature living in preparation for marriage.
