The Eternal God

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” Revelation 1:8

“What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us” (A.W. Tozer, The Knowledge of the Holy). God reveals Himself in the Bible as a God who has no beginning or end. He is an eternal God. God is unlike anything we experience. The infinity of God is that perfection of God by which he is free from all limitations. . . It implies that He is in no way limited by the universe, by this time-space world, or confined to the universe” (Berkhof). The eternal nature of God guarantees the completion of human history in the manner described in the book of Revelation. The flood light of the last book of the Bible shows us that the summation of all things is found in Jesus Christ. God the Son oversees and directs human history but is not bound by it. He has lived already all our tomorrows and has lived all our yesterdays. Do not let the secular propaganda of a man-centered theme of history and the future drag you into the abysmal ditch of a God-less world. Have you experienced the eternal life that is in Jesus Christ? An eternity of damnation is the worst thought imaginable.

Are you praying for those who face an eternity of God’s judgment?
