“Disregard the study of God, and you sentence yourself to stumble and blunder through life blindfolded, as it were, with no sense of direction and no understanding of what surrounds you. This way you can waste your life and lose your soul” (J.I. Packer, Knowing God). Let it not be said that we are not taking God seriously. Hungering for God begins by giving mental energy to determining what God has said in His Word in order for it to make its full impact on our mind and heart. Call this meditation. Those who know their God are people who know who they are and where they are going. They do great exploits for God. They are people who are not enamored with the comforts and toys of this life, but rather see life as the opportunity to prepare for eternity. They are people who talk to God. They seek Him out and converse with Him. They are people who have a ravenous appetite for experiencing the perfections of God, peace, joy, patience, love.
